The unwitting expat blogger behind Quiet Moss Harbor

Hello, I am Sophie
I work as a project manager, a parent, and an expat living in Zurich, Switzerland.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually turned into a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Switzerland wasn't in the long-range plan. As with many expat relocations, it started as a job chance and quickly grew into something far more significant.
Those early months were demanding — new processes, new routines, new expectations. Daily tasks felt more tangled than they ought to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and plenty of hands-on learning. Gradually, routines took shape. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt secure.
Why I Built Quiet Moss Harbor
Most information online was either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism content. What was missing was a candid, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to close that gap — practical guidance drawn from real life in Switzerland.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site is:
- Practical experience gained from living in Switzerland
- Centered on family life and everyday realities
- Updated whenever something truly changes
This site isn't:
- A resource from a tourism authority
- A platform for sponsored reviews
- A standard travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our stay in Switzerland continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I will keep documenting what we uncover.
If you have questions about family life in Zurich or anywhere in Switzerland, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Warm regards,
Sophie
